Church of St Stanislaw Kostka
Church of St Stanislaw Kostka is located in the northern part of Warsaw in Zoliborz District. It is well known church in Warsaw because of the grave of Father Jerzy Popieluszko. His grave is in the church cemetery, covered with a stone cross and surrounded by linked rocks arranged in the manner of a rosary.

Jerzy Popieluszko was the pastor of the Solidarity movement, national hero renowned for his courageous sermons in defence of Poland’s freedom. Eventually he was murdered in 1984 by communist security agents. Church is easy to recognize thanks to its openwork twin towers. Interior is filled with Baroque paintings by the Silesian artist Michael Willmann.
