Rozana Restaurant
Magda Gessler, a renowned creator of new tastes and interiors, has created a restaurant based on her new concept. She is about to open a new restaurant named ‘Polka’ in an several centuries old ancient tenement in the Old Town of Warsaw where Polish customers and foreign tourists will taste traditional Polish cuisine. Simply, colourfully, friendly, quickly, with no tablecloth, the Polish way.

‘Polka’ restaurant initiates Magda Gessler’s new idea, a concept of a Polish table which shows that Polish cuisine is a refined collection of diverse cultural impacts. The restaurant will serve Polish cuisine dishes prepared with tasty and generous organic products. The Clients will be offered a rich menu: dishes roasted on a metal plate (e.g. rings of blood sausage) and oven-baked dishes (continuously roasted 10 cm long pieces of pork loin, pork knuckle for true men and for ladies). There will also be groats served with mushroom sauce, sorrel sauce or ‘oscypek’ (smoked ewe’s milk cheese made in the Tatra Mountains). Vegetarians will have the chance to taste dishes they do not have time to make at home, such as cottage cheese dumplings, pancakes with ‘pascha’ (a sweet Easter dish made of curd cheese and dried fruit), mazurek (shortcrust tart) with mushrooms, sheep’s cheese, Polish fruit and nuts.

As for dessert, the customers will relish delicious home-made pies, an exquisite chocolate cake and other desserts such as pudding made of egg yolk blended with cherry juice – a lasting memory of Sunday dinners.

Dishes will be served on wooden tables without tablecloth and arranged in interiors inspired by the architecture of Renaissance tenements. The restaurant comprises a few rooms and a beautiful, sunny patio. Every ‘Polka’ Client will be treated with the traditional Polish hospitality. Prices will be affordable for all.

‘Polka’ initiated the concept of a traditional Polish table – a pilot project. The perfect menu tailored to suit the needs of the restaurant will also be served in other restaurants across Poland based on the same concept . Participation of Magda Gessler in this undertaking guarantees high quality and delicious taste of food.

She is planning to open similar restaurants across the country, e.g. in Żelazowa Wola. They will be located in premises strongly connected with Polish history to enhance the awareness of Polish tradition in tourists visiting this beautiful country. The owners of the restaurant hope that the new concept would arouse interest of the foreign and Polish clients and it will be included in the program of trips to Warsaw.
