Swietojanska Street connects the Old Town square and Royal Castle square and is one of the most representative streets of the Old Town.
Swietojanska Street is lined with 15th-century townhouses. After the war they were reconstructed and today their facades reflect their original 18th-century styling. No.8 is the St John Baptist Cathedral, No.10 is the Holy Virgin Mary the Merciful Church, while No.31 is the Townhouse under the Ship. Swietojanska Street is a popular promenade full of souvenir shops and eating establishments. In summer there are many ice-cream stalls, candyfolss makers, orchestras and street artists.
