From January 26 to February 9, the 11th festival of Witold Lutoslawski music will be held in Warsaw. Witold Lutoslawski was one of the major European composers of the 20th century. The festival has been organized since 2004 by the Witold Lutoslawski Society.


From January 26 to February 9, the 11th festival of Witold Lutoslawski music will be held in Warsaw. Witold Lutoslawski was one of the major European composers of the 20th century. The festival has been organized since 2004 by the Witold Lutoslawski Society. This year the festival will close the Witold Lutoslawski Centennial, symbolically crowned by the twentieth anniversary of the composer’s death (February 7). The program of this year's festival includes works by Polish composers: Witold Lutoslawski, Wojciech Kilar, Andrzej Panufnik, Aleksander Tansman, Zbigniew Bargielski as wells as Per Norgard, Kaija Saariaho, Arne Nordheim, Toru Takemitsu and Belarussian Natalya Chepelyuk. The festival be inaugurated on Sunday, January 26 at 7 p.m. by a concert at the Polish Radio Concert Studio, 59 Modzelewskiego Street. Next estival concerts will be held: at Feb. 6 at the Hotel Bristol in Warsaw, Feb. 7 at the Great Hall of the Royal Castle in Warsaw and 8 and 9 February at the Concert Studio of Polish Radio. Tickets for each concer cost 20/25 PLN.
