Communism Tour of Warsaw

This tour allows you to explore Warsaw much deeper and visit the best preserved Communist sites in Warsaw. Our professional, private guide can meet you at your hotel in Warsaw and take you for an approx 4 hours tour. You will visit the Constitution Square and walk along the main streets like Krucza, Zurawia and Hoza in the quarter of the former Central Offices. Here we will admire the Grand Hotel and the Ministry of Agriculture – a building of an impressive architectural value. Our guide will show you also Dom Partii building (the Party’s House) and the first modern shopping center from the 50’s. Moreover, we will visit the symbol of communist era in Poland: the Palace of Culture and Science – in the past known as the Joseph Stalin Palace of Culture and Science. The lift can take you as high as the 30th floor (out of the total 42) to the viewing terrace, situated at 114 meters. From the top extends a panoramic view of the city. Then our driver can take you by comfortable car for a second part of tour. We will take a look at the communist era housing estate Za Zelazna Brama (Behind the Iron Gate), one of the biggest conceptions of Le Corbusier realized in Europe. It consists of 19 apartment blocks. Then let us take you to the Muranow District, which is the place of the former ghetto. Here we can admire typical architecture and urban layout of the 50’s. Then we go to Praga district, which is something definitely worth seeing because of socialist-realism style buildings.
