Cesaria Evoria concert (May 23, 2011)
Cesaria Evoria comes from little Islands of Capo Verde, small country on the coast of Senegal, on the crossing of African, European and South American seaways, so cultures and music of these continents had a great impact on Capo Verde's culture.
The artist derives from all these portuguese, brasilian, carabbean, and cuban sources. She sings mainly in creole, but also in portuguese, mainly „oceanic blues” - delicate, full of longing and melancholy songs about the harsh of everyday life.
She sings barefoot – as a memory of previous times. She supports young musicians and finances their concerts.
After a serious desease in 2011 she's coming back with a new album.
It will be possible to see her on a concert in Warsw on the19th June 2011 in Sala Kongresowa on 1 Defilad Square.
