Treblinka – Death Camp Tour

Treblinka Museum of Struggle and Martyrdom commemorates cruel events from World War 2 period. Two concentration camps were established in Treblinka by German Nazis. One camp – Treblinka I, was a penal labour camp where approx 7000 people were executed or died during slave work. Nearby Treblinka II was a death camp with gas chambers where around 800,000 people were killed in 1942 – 1943. Most of them were Jews from Poland. Treblinka II, constructed using German firms, Polish prisoners and Jews, would serve as an elimination center for the Jews of central Europe.

The death camp is widely regarded as the second most important German wartime extermination center. Only Auschwitz-Birkenau is supposed to have claimed more lives.

Tour schedule:

1. hotel pick up, starting at chosen time,
2. 1,5 hours ride from Warsaw to Treblinka Museum accompanied by English speaking driver,
3. 3 hours of private guided walking tour around formed Treblinka Camp

You will see:

• Museum of Struggle and Martyrdom – built on the grounds of the former camp in Treblinka
• area of Treblinka I Labour Camp with ruins – prisoners worked in the gravel pit, irrigation area and in the forest,
• area of Treblinka II Extermination Camp with ruins – it is estimated that between 700,000 and 900,000 Jews were killed in its gas chambers,
• Black road – 2 km road connecting both parts of the camp,
• Treblinka memorial large granite monument at the site where the gas chambers were probably located. Created in 1963

4. 1,5 h return journey to Warsaw,
5. drop off at your hotel.

It is located approx. 100 km from Treblinka. During the visit you will see impressive Synagogue, marketplace and some historic streets like Kaczorowska streets.
